Minnie Mouse’s collection at LFW

More than 60 catwalk shows and 20 presentations over 5 days, 110 UK and international established and emerging designers presenting their creations at the Exhibition at the Somerset House’s location, the Vauxhall Fashion Scouts, London Fashion Week’s largest independent Showcase: these are the features of the London Fashion Week, having had its kickoff yesterday.

The Inspired by Minnie Mouse’s collection on display in the exhibition space on the ground-floor, has been created by many London top designers to be auctioned on eBay to support BFC/Bazaar Fashion Arts Foundation.

I thought of mentioning this funny collection just because it’s so cute and it reminds me of Minnie, my mother’s cat, who hasn’t a very cattish name, also I doubt that a similar display would have been showcased at the Settimana della Moda di Milano….

Anyway my next highlight is about the most exclusive catwalk: Burberry Prorsum Womenswear SS13

The show took place in a huge marquee in Kensington Gardens for 1500 guests and broadcast on phones, tablets and computers around the world.

The collection is joyous, colourful, gleaming, glossy: perhaps it is the luxury brand’s response to the market’s worries regarding the recent profit warning?
